Intel i5 12400 stock cooler perforamance test

Hello friends, welcome to my channel. In this video, I am going to test Intel i5 12400 processor stock cooler performance. Ambient temperature was 33.6 degree centigrade.

At first I am going to test with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility because this will be the maximum stress for average users. Idle temp is about 42 degree centigrade. All six performance cores are running at 4 GHz. This test will run for 5 minutes, I am going to speed up the video to save your time, just look at the temperature reading. Maximum temperature reading is 84 degree centigrade, which is quite good considering the ambient temperature. And the CPU did not thermal throttle.

Next, I am going to test with Prime 95. This application will replicate maximum stress on each core of the CPU. I am going to run this test for 10 minutes. Here the cooler is having a tough time to keep the temperature under control. After 5 minutes temperature reaches up to 98 degree centigrade but still CPU is not thermal throttling. In addition to this, while no exact acoustic tests were performed, by and large it seemed that this was achieved with a relatively low level of noise output too.

 

Now, of course for such load, getting a better CPU cooler would certainly seem to be a good idea. 98 degree centigrade isn’t an ideal temperature if you consistently hang around this area. By and large, though, these new stock cooling solutions do appear to be a very good option in the absence of anything better. If you are an average user who just play games and do 1080p video editing then this cooler will handle the load. For heavy multi-threaded work load you should get an aftermarket tower cooler. Although the product description says that the mouse button is programmable but I didn’t found any software for this mouse in their website which means the buttons are not programmable. Overall under 1K this is a very good deal.
