Solution to reduce eye stress for prolonged pc use

Do you feel stress on your eyes while looking at your pc screen for several hours, specially at night hours. I think most people experience the same. Most application interface uses a bright white background and this bright background causes stress in our eyes. I have come up with several solutions to help your eyes.

how to reduce eye stress for pc useFist of all you can try to manipulate your application interface by changing settings i.e to change the background color from white to gray. This method works for Microsoft Office, Excel and Pdf readers.

But most application do not offer this feature. For example you can't change the background of a web page by changing settings of your browser. You can use a night mood ad-on for this purpose, but I do not find them useful.

If you are using a laptop then adjusting screen brightness may help you a lot, but still your background remains white. While searching for a remedy to this problem I have found a open-source software, that can help your eyes by warming the color of your computer screen after sunset. You can set your location to change your brightness automatically at sunset or manually adjust the brightness according to your room lighting condition just by sliding a bar. The software name is f.lux and it is totally free. It helps me a lot as I work in front of my pc most of the time.
